Emergencies. Illnesses. And Death.
All the things we inevitably have to deal with but avoid talking about until it's too late.

Imagine you’re sitting in a hospital room with your spouse or a parent during a sudden medical emergency, and it’s the first time you’ve seriously thought about what would happen if that person became severely disabled or died unexpectedly.
You had talked about getting a will done “one day,” but you never got around to it.
And to make matters worse, you’ve been asked to produce a power of attorney so you can make critical health care decisions for your loved one.
You don’t have that either.
You feel a whirlwind of emotions because you’re uncertain about the future.
If you don’t take the initiative to create an estate plan, state law IS your estate plan.
A judge will appoint someone to make financial and medical decisions for you (and it might not be the person you would have chosen).
And the people whom you want to inherit might not get anything at all.

You can avoid that scenario and instead feel calm and confident by taking action now.

Hi! I'm Paula Vincent Johnson,
a Louisiana civil law notary
(who loves a good steak dinner with a glass of malbec).
Nobody likes talking about medical emergencies, serious illnesses or death. But we all have to deal with them at some point in our lives. I did - multiple times.
My younger brother died in his early 30s from a viral infection in his heart; he was my only sibling. Then my father died unexpectedly of a stroke. And until her death, I was my mother’s primary caregiver for several years after she fell in her home and overnight became permanently physically disabled. (Yes, they had their affairs in order.)
I love being a civil law notary because it allows me to combine my love for the law with my passion for helping people protect their loved ones before they find themselves in the middle of a medical emergency or suffering the negative consequences of suddenly losing a loved one who did not have a will.
What makes me unique is that my practice focuses primarily on basic estate planning.
I don't just watch you sign papers.
I prepare customized legal documents according to your wishes so you can feel optimistic about the future, maintain control of your assets, and effectively communicate with financial institutions, medical professionals, governmental agencies, and others during life’s most difficult times.
I understand that the process of getting your legal documents prepared can sometimes feel complicated and overwhelming.
That’s why we start with a candid phone call – to provide you with immediate information, guidance, and support so you can feel more confident about your best next step.
